I’m trying to see if my fan switch is working properly. This is a non ac, heat only 1981 C10 truck. Turn on fan and nothing, fuse is good, jumped fan motor to battery and it ran but there was a thumping sound. Took fan motor off and found the mother of all mouse nests. So I took off the blower housing and cleaned out as much as I can.
The fan relay was a rusted mess, so I got another one, so now I’m trying to see if the switch is working and I turned the key on and turned switch to high and I got power at the three prong plug that goes to the resistor on the blue wire but when I first hook up my meter it spikes at about 11.2 volts then drops to 10.4volts.
Is this normal ? Or do I need a new fan switch?
