Blazer top as camper shell

Has anybody done this?
Seems to me the back could use Blazer/suburban tailgate/glass. Front would have to be fabricated.
Thoughts?

I have no clue. But suburban and blazer tailgates are different.

Duh (on my part, I wasn’t thinking) Blazers have lift gates.

Blazers don't have lift gates either. It's a tailgate with sliding glass.

My question is why? Truck toppers can be found used for very very cheap, or even free.

Would I be looking for a square body specific cap or are there caps for other trucks that will work?

Pretty much anything for a square style truck should fit. The '88-98 style toppers fit, but they are a bit narrow at the rear. Toppers from the '96 and older Ford trucks work fine, and probably the '93 and older Dodge trucks too.

It might block a little, but it must not have been enough to make a difference. I remember them being somewhat common back in the seventies when truck campers were more popular.

No idea. Last one I remember seeing, was one we sold in s garage sale back in '82 or '83. It was srill in the box.

Why would you want to try and make a blazer top from a pickup shell

When blazer tops are in every junkyard?
