I need a scuff plate for the rear where carpet ends by tailgate.

Is there such a thing? Where do I get an example? I've never seen one in the wild... not even a repro.

Sorry I couldn't respond in your allotted time frame to give you that warm fuzzy feeling/answer to your post, because I was balls deep in the wife at the time.

Who TF puts carpet by the tailgate anyway? This ain't 1968!
No I haven't seen one in the wild. No I don't have a picture of one.
If you ever do find one though, I know exactly where you can put it.

Geez man, check your meds.

Someone needs to reproduce that scuff plate. The originals went away with the dodo bird.

Is it something that a person who had some talent with a metal brake could make for you?

Didn't know this part was a unicorn.
I have one for my k5. Truck had all of its original interior when I bought it.
It's an 82. Not installed right now while restoring but I can take a pic if someone wants to see it.

Yes. Seems simple enough, certainly nothing fancy is required...do you happen to know such a person, by chance? o_O
I drive fire trucks for a manufacturer that builds bodies. They’re always doing stuff like that out if stainless and aluminum. There should be someone like that around you I would think. If not send some dimensions and I can see what they could do it for.

Check with someone who does windows or siding, or rain gutters. They would all have metal brakes wide enough for what you need, and they'd all gave experience with aluminum. Stainless would be pretty badass tho.

There is a guy making them on one of the other boards I frequent. Let me do some searching to see if I can find him.

Won't be tonight! LOL!
