Blacked out taillights

I'm rebuilding my square body. I've been wanting to black out the stock tail lights like this

but darker. I do not the bubbly looking euro tail lights either. Does anyone know of the best way to darken my tail lights? I want them close to the smoked

They sell a lens paint at the auto parts store specifically for that. Pretty easy clean with alcohol tape off and spray. Do one coat at a time till its to your liking.

I know it's kinda hard to see, but I used the lens paint and I think it looks really good. I taped off the the clear, and sprayed the rest.

Here in southeast Iowa, I know of a few, lol. My neighbor has one that looks identical as mine, but stock still. Kind of reminds me of the movie Twins, lol.
