I had a 68 Cutless. I could so kick myself. Not a dent in the bitch. I drove it over the scale when I moved to Nor Cali. I had like 5 cars and could only take 2. I got rid of some good cars for next to nothing. Drove 2 of them over the scale.

Nice find and cool car you couldn't buy or trade. How much did they charge for putting new seals on the shell? I never thought of taking it in to a camper place to have that done, and mine needs new seals for sure.

Found something interesting this weekend while doing some work. Apparently Bertha's cab was painted lighter Hawaiian Blue and then sent back to be repainted the darker Catalina Blue. We found Hawaiian Blue paint on the cab under the seals. The SPID says Catalina Blue, the doors, fenders and bed are all Catalina Blue with no lighter blue underneath, just the cab. The dash is Catalina Blue, I didn't look to see if it was Hawaiian Blue originally.

I like that Hawaiian Blue, it matches the seat pretty well. @RetroC10Sport, if you don't mind sharing, how much was it to get the shell re-sealed?

I'm sorry I missed your question there. She hasn't done it yet, she's been saving her money to go to C10s in the park next month.

Thanks. I know the feeling of not having the money. Been spending mine on project items for the fleet. The Forester and the Cherokee have a thorough going through coming up and lots of items replaced and repaired. I've thought about seeing if the camper places around here even have the type of seals I need and then do it myself.

    I love this kid...

"When you pull into a gas station to put jacket on cuz you drove Bertha to babysit and it's now freezing when you left it wasn't. The he gentleman on duty is outside getting trash. Says to you nice truck ma'am. Is she yours? Grins when I say she is. Asks if it's a 350. No sir. I get out. Pop hood for him. He looks at me looks at her. A 454?! Stock?? I'm not even mad like I would usually get. (90% can't handle a female owning a behemoth.) Told him everything under hood is pretty much stock minus few parts. Not even mad that he asked if she was for sell. Cuz I can see this guy loves her. Told him she isn't. I'm never planning on selling her. Asked if she was a Cheyenne. I said she is. The camper special. He said one ton right? I grinned she is. He looks more and more in love with my truck. Man a country boys dream truck. Ma'am you know she is rare right? (I know this) I ask why? Let's see if we are thinking the same thing. He tells me that she should be a dually. I tell him you are correct. But some were made into a single axle. Asked me to please never sell and to come by again so he can see her in the day light. I told him I would. I absolutely love how my truck brings so much joy and excitement and happiness to everyone she meets. Adults and kids alike love this old girl."

So this week, Bertha got a brand new windshield, new doors, new LF fender (RF is coming next month); new taillights; new glove box door; grille (still need to install 454 emblem); headlight bezels and mint front bumper with guards.

I still need to tweak the driver's door yet, it has to be slammed even though we replaced the strikers and the gaps are all wrong, but it's an aftermarket door so shit doesn't line up like OEM and it was dark by the time we got it on. The passenger door went on like butter and perfect gaps, closes like new too. The passenger door hadn't been able to be opened for years, it had a huge crack in the hinge area.
