I recently acquired a decent tan cloth bench seat for my truck. While doing a basic cleaning and lube the tracks, notice some broken wires on the grid deal under the foam. Found a couple places with aftermarket replacements. USA 1 Interiors listed a grid, after 3 unanswered emails, I order one through Amazon. I had to trim to length, then took some of the extra wires and added to the drivers side. Before buttoning it up, I want to beef it up or give a little more substantence firmness etc. I find folks using burlap, carpet backing insulation, high density foam, cardboard, and the list goes on.
So anyone experience with this, or know what a shop did to yours?
Also, I want to put a decent cover on it, something that fits well maybe pockets in the back, that doesn't look like a horse blanket. This is not a show truck, plow, tow, haul, logging.

On my last truck I used LMC's kit #38-2831. Basically it was just a piece of scrap carpet with a thin piece of foam attached. It lays over the springs before you put the bench foam on the bottom frame. The foam provided didn't do to much, but the carpet section does help spread out the load better over the seat springs.

That's funny, I was thinking a piece carpet may work better than burlap. Thanks Craig

Thought I would post some pictures of what I ended up doing with my seat. I bought a new wire grid, some 22oz burlap, and some carpet padding. The grid was longer, so the piece I cut off, added some extra wires on the drivers side. Think I did a burlap the carpet pad then another burlap, then the grid back in.

Just some food for thought. I used boat cover fabric instead of burlap while restoring my seats. The material is like landscape fabric but heavier duty. Got 9 yards on eBay for 20$ shipped.

Does it breath? I don't like a sweaty butt.
