Attended a show today that was a fund raiser for a family who has a son with leukemia and has to have cemo treatments in OKC. Daddy is a car guy/self employed fabricator. Weather was great and there was even greater support for this very worthy cause. I even gathered up 3rd place for the class I was in. Took lots of pics. Hope you enjoy.
Here is the 1st place winner in the class I was in, modern custom:crazy:

Few things,

Awesome turnout, I like all the cars except the Porsche, really like those cars but they have no point at a car show.

That bagged Caprice station wagon is so bad ass.

What is that big blue tank in the back of that 60's ford pickup?

I absolutely love your pickup, it looks terrifying.

I guess you are referring to the Chevy with the tank in the back:). It's a propane tank. Around here farmers converted to propane. Alot still use this system to this day.

I don't get it, your truck is MUCH nicer than those first two. Who was doing the judging? A group of toddlers?

Has to be Andy...Giving any award to a Lost Hope Series other than "Biggest Pile of ****" is a sin...

A nice turn out though. There's never any square bodies at shows here...Except an S series (A lone Syclone)...

2nd place??? really??? who did this guy pay off to get that kind of award for this thing? Just from your pics I would have put at least 8 others in front of him including your truck! wow!

Only advantage that I know of is the propane burns cleaner and colder, kinda like alky, but the mpg will suffer and there is a loss of power. But back in the not to distant past, propane was cheaper and the farmers would buy in bulk. Usually had aleast a 300 gal tank on the farm. Most of the machinery ran of of it as well, so it was mostly a matter on convenience I suppose.

Thanks! Well, the classing was a bit screwy and the judges were the entrants and spectators. It all came down to the type of crowd there and who had the most buddys show up. Knew I was pretty much done there. As for the classing, not sure why they put me in modern custom. I had custom but the only thing modern about mine is the fuel injection. And the 2 tone truck next to me was street rod class. The red camaro was street rod also but the blue camaro was classic car. Go figure. But if you was to vote for the class, I guess they beat me fair and square. Wasn't there expecting to win anything, but still it's a little disappointing tho. The real winner is the family this was put on for.
