Hey guys, another newbie question...

I currently have an '83 K10 with an aftermarket 350 mated to an A833 OD transmission. It's a good combo, but I'm always looking for options.

I have a few decent salvage yards around here, and I am confident that I can find all the components to an A833 to NV3500 swap, if it's a practical!

The A833 is operated currently by a mechanical (non-hydraulic) clutch.
- can the NV3500 be operated mechanically or only hydraulically?

I assume the NV3500 can be bolted up to the 350's existing bolt pattern, right?

I can't recall which transfer case I have (assume it's stock) but will there be matching challenges there?

I'm sure I will have more questions, but this a start as I go down that rabbit hole of a thought exercise.

Thanks!
Mike

It's hydro clutch only. And yes, it will bolt right up to the 350.

Don't know about your np208 transfer case. I think your combo is 32 spline output/input. Not sure about the 4x4 version of the NV3500, I kinda want to say it's a 27 spline output, like a 700r4.

I can't help much with the 4x4 specific stuff except to say you'll need a full size truck trans. I read the S10 uses a 5 bolt transfer case pattern where a full size truck is 6. My truck is 2wd but I did run across that while searching for information on swapping the trans in an older truck.
