A Couple of JY Oddities (at least to me)

Saw this '76 Sierra Grande (half ton) a little while back. While the aftermarket A/C looked like any other under the hood, (York compressor, cumbersome bracket and adjustment, undersized condenser), it was the 'control head' that caught my eye;

Rotary knob is a thermostat and the standard non-AC control head appeared to control the fan speed depending on the toggle switch position.

Vents looked like typical aftermarket;

The other more recent find was a non-AC 6.2L with the unique firewall insulation all intact;

That adjustable orifice - I assume that is what it is- seems like a cool idea !
Dial it in to your conditions !:D

But, I am not an ac guy, so I could be all wrong.
