Ls swap is done. 87 Chevy r10 that is an a/c truck. All that wiring is intact. I have the upper a/c mount for the motor that will accept the Sanden or pancake style compressor. Can I use all the original A/c wiring with a newer serpentine style compressor?

That's what I'm doing for my K5 LS swap. R4 compressor from a late 80's early 90' K5 or Suburban. The HVAC switch in the cab controls the compressor directly.
Since you will need a shorter compressor hose you can use the one from the same year as the new compressor. Just get the single air option.

Good info. Thank you. I’ll update when I get this done. My harness has an ac wire so the computer knows when I turn the ac on and it’ll turn my low speed fan on for me.

I thought about having the PCM control my AC but kept it separate. I have dual electric fans so the PCM turns them on at different temps. I added another relay to turn on the higher temp fan as soon as the AC is on.

On my TA ecm controls fans and ac. Stock wires tied to ecm after low pressure switch. And ecm has its own additional full range pressure switch to deal with compressor as needed
