Good morning people it has been a minute but I have finally stacked a few parts to start playing. I picked up the 88 in Nov of 15 and she has been sitting since then with depression set in about shotty work by an offroad shop in Lafayette La. The previous owner had the rear end rebuild after he blew it our doing burn outs. During the rebuild the "offroad shop" just put in fresh gears and called it good. They "forgot" to clean the chunks of metal out of the case and change the wheel seals. What I thought would be a 20 min job if that to change wheel seals and rear brakes became a fight between me and a spider gear center pin. The pin and the spider gears were chewed to hell and didnt want to come out. So I let her sit for about a year when work slowed down for me to begin working on it. It took 4.5 hrs and a few choice words but me, a 10lb short handle sledge, a punch and a gringer got the pin out and the axles pulled. I went back in with a spartan locker, new axle seals and a lube locker gasket (if you never used one they are tits). After a test ride around the block or a 1/4 take of gas it is running great. The spartan is noisy and freaks me out a bit but I hear they always are so I should be good. Will burn a tank of fuel through her and pull the cover and make sure all is well probably next week.

Then ot was time to lift her a touch more. Threw on a set of Rancho add a leafs and a set of zero rates on the rear to help out the stock tired springs. And for the front stuck in 1" zero rates from Offroad Designs. They will work until I can get a new set of lift springs.

I didnt like the rear seat due to the lack of shoulder belts for my 6 year old so he got a 3rd row from a 10 tahoe. Pretty easy swap with a few welds on the stock seat base. I like the seat sitting a little higher and the independent seats to fold down for added area to throw stuff in and the little man can still ride.

Yesterday since she is running it was time for new rubbers so my buddy at Delta World Tire in New Iberia got me 5 35x12.50r15 KM2s for a fresh and reliable look for a great deal. I figired the swampers I had werent the look I was wanting so off they came and went up for sale last night.

Now all I have left laying around is a set of Mile Marker hubs, Uniden CB, marine vinyl, new speakers, infinity sub, old rockford 400x4, 110 power converter, usb chargers, Wilson cell booster, reverse camera with new 7in screen for rearview mirror and more crap. Sad but I don't remember everything I got laying around.

    Here are a few pics....

First time out from under the carport in a year. Gotta love getting in for ride one and listening for possible new gremlins to come crawling out.

Ahh also threw on a dash cap and a vinyl floor. Also got a rebuild kit for the np208 along with a cable shifter from JB Custom Fab. That may be done next week or so as well.

Nice! My dash cap creaks when you push on it, does a new one do that? Have always been curious since I noticed it.

I havent pushed on mine but it looks killer and was only $100. As if it creaks while bouncing down the louisiana washboards i can't hear rattles with dumps under my seat. Need to route my exhaust out back.

I've seen this truck before, but it's been a long time. It was for sale on Craigslist? Either way, nice truck and good luck with everything you've got going on with it.

It is a Cover Lay dash cover. Made of plastic and glues down to your existing dash pad. I have had mine a year so far and no issues from the sun or anything in south Louisiana.

I think I have a gas tube cover, from when I took my Jimmy apart. If you want it let me know.

Good looking Blazer/Jimmy, I like the way it sits.

thanks guys. Once I get a lil time I will throw on the Mile Marker hubs and drop the transfer case for a clean up and swap the trans tail seal that is leaking into the t case. Along with swap out the shifter with the new cable shifter.

What you want for it? I actually fiberglassed mine back together for a "temporary" fix.
