haha honestly i can't stand beans; wouldn't make a good homeless guy, ever since "that one scene" from Hot Rod the phrase stuck haha
do we know of any under engine skid plates or transfer case skid plates a guy could get for the ol '88 Jimmy? I found a solid gas tank skid plate but wouldn't mind the transfer case and engine undercarriage
WE'VE GOT PICTURES AND UPDATES: So it's a 10 bolt rear, i have a picture of the front hubs and the transfer case for identification. rear driveshaft broke at yoke at transfer case, front shaft isn't in because the original isn't long enough. Put a battery in it to see if it would start, cluster turned on, but there was some smoke under hood at firewall and no cranking. Looks like I'll be pulling it out. Any questions, comments or help is appreciated
Had some smoking on the firewall wiring and down in some wiring on the lower passenger side of block, and no crank over either
Well, looks like an np205 from here, with the figure 8 mounting pattern and a 10 spline input. The front hubs are original 80's automatic locking type.
wiring needed and i'm far from a seasoned electrician. any schematics or diagrams would be appreciated
Here ya go . . . https://www.gmsquarebody.com/threads/1973-1991-wiring-manuals.14498/ Get a DMM or good 12vdc test light. Don't turn on anything else until you've gone through and checked for shorts to ground. Smoke from the passenger side? Sounds like the starter solenoid fried. But vehicles left sitting for a while get their wires chewed by varmints.
That yellow spray paint on the grille/headlight bezels/emblems is the biggest shame. Also, that texas plate looks way out of place in the snow lol
