While waiting for parts in the mail AND a trip to the parts store sometime this week, i got the rear all finished up with paint and got the gas tank in. I had also won the driveshaft battle and got the front in (after the previous owner said it couldn't be done) it was tricky, but she's in the first time since, i don't know at least 2012. The rear is on at the transfer case and bungeed up on the other end, the yoke may be an issue. So the previous yoke had its threads stripped and the previous owner LITERALLY drove it with all of the bolts halfway in, perhaps resulting in it breaking off at the transfer case? IDK so i just ordered a Dorman replacement, same exact thing and i sized up to the u joint cap where they'll meet and it's almost like the caps are like 1/8" of an inch too big, IF THAT.... now i don't know too much about this: will it work itself in as i screw it in evenly, or is it gonna fight and strip it out again because they ARE too big? Can i easily replace them to a smaller size or is that gonna mean a whole other u joint?

And i'm taking my doors and tailgate in to get blasted/epoxied this week :)

What did you guys use for paint on the frame? I'm about to do the same thing and was trying to decide between rattle can, POR-15, something else? I've got everything else off and am replacing a bunch of stuff, so it should be easy to do whatever prep I want while the bed is off.

This stuff is supposed to be the bees knees.
My VW buddies on the east coast swear by it.

So today I replaced the driver's side axle u joint and cleaned/painted it. Prepped the front axle mating areas also for some paint before she goes back together. Painted the other caliper, both black with that heat resistant stuff, never tried it, we'll see how it works out. Got my new hubs today, and i must say i am HIGHLY impressed. Everything comes as one unit, bearing races already installed and everything. Just waiting on wheel seals and dust rings and she'll be going on and then to the next side. I also pulled my bumper guard out of storage; the thing that started this whole thing. I saw it on a truck in a yard one day and said "Hey, that's rare as hell! I want it!" Not often you see a factory(?) bumper guard still intact and in good condition. Considering it was on a sitting truck i went and asked the owner, he let me buy it, one thing led to another and i came back for the whole truck! Good times. . . anyway i pulled it out and started to put the clean to her, she's been painted over with rattlecan (imagine that) and i'm slowing getting it back to chrome, so i can reuse it with my new chrome bumpers that i will be ordering down the road. Has a little bit of surface rust at the welds but THAT'S character. I'll run it like that compared to getting it blasted and re-chromed. Who knows, maybe i'll decide to, depends how clean i can get it compared to it's corresponding bumper.

. . .and yes it is ziptied on, i just wanted it on there for motivation!

The specs are there, you just have to look up the RPO codes if you want to know the options.

Anybody know where a feller can find a couple rarities:

    Plastic floor np205 shift pattern
Sierra Classic rear bedside badge for Jimmy
    Gas tank skid plate

    That's all for now
