I say POR15 would be a waste of money for you. You live in square friendly territory. Rust belt I can see the expense being warranted. Just my .02

I'm doing much better. Truck is still waiting to be finished up. My buddy came over and helped get some of the work done swapping out the ignition goods, redoing some of the fuel lines and swapping the intake. I still have to get the carburetor on and the new dizzy.

I get fully released the end of this week to resume normal activity, so I can get the square finished up. I've been taking it very easy physically. My wife had gallbladder surgery 7 years ago and didn't listen to her doc and ended up getting a hernia and had to have a second surgery. I'm not going down that road. lol

Not sure when I'll have time with the holidays and whatnot, but I hope to get it all buttoned up before Christmas.

Where I live is somewhat friendly, I'd say I'm in a soso area as far as rust is concerned. It's definitely not the north, but we still get good snows and road salt in the winter. IF you take the time to wash all that crap off regularly during the winter, it will go a long way to prevent rust. If POR15 is the best, I think I could easily justify it here. Is it quality stuff?

Finished up the intake, carb, dizzy, msd 6al box, and fuel pump today. Runs a lot smoother and seems to be a lot more responsive. My next towing test will tell the rest of the story, but no doubt it sure helped the big block. Here is a video of it being fired up.

Gave it one pump of the pedal this morning and it busted right off. I let it run for about 20 seconds and then backed out of the driveway and drove to work. It was 26 degrees out this morning, so I figure that is cold enough to see if it was going to be cold natured or not. Our typical lows around here will only be another 10-15 degrees colder, so it should be good to go. The thing is much more pleasant to drive now that it doesn't hate the cold.

Fit and finish on the Summit intake seemed to be pretty good, nearly as good as what I've had with Edelbrock products. I'm happy enough with it that I'd buy one again.

Hey there! I've got to say, your interior came amazing! Love the colors.

I had a question for you, if you have a minute.... @Big Chip and I both have 79 crewcabs. Both happen to need headliner work too. Figures, right? Lol. Do you know if the headliner will come out of the rig, without removing the windshield, and taking it out that way? I've looked close, and its just so long. I couldn't see how I could get it out (and back in) without folding or mangling it. Is there enough room to do it? Well, I Guess that's it for now. Looking forward to seeing your next drivetrain improvement being done! Thanks again!

Yes, you can get the headliner out, but it helps to have the front seat removed. You kind of have to bend it as gentle as you can with the front part down towards the floorboard and the rear kind of parallel to the ground, then bring it out the front passenger door. Kind of like a gentle "L" shape. You will definitely need 2 people to do it too as it is bulky and awkward. Really wasn't too bad though.

I took mine out long enough to thoroughly clean the metal in the cab and install sound proofing. Then I reinstalled it and drove the pickup to my upholstery guys to let them work their magic on it. I think they only charged me $150 to do it and in my books that was definitely money well spent.

Ok then, that's really good info to know. My windshield does need to come out sooner or later, but at least I know I can take the headliner out first if need be.... Thanks much!

Glad to hear you're doing better. The truck work looks excellent!
Safe to say you've both recovered nicely.
