I had a flatbed for it and traded it for this burb for parts lol I'm not opposed to doing a SRW and a short flatbed.. I have a buddy w/ a single wheel and dually front axles.. he even has a big hub Dana 44.

    It doesn't get much better!!

That truck is cool the way it is, loose the tool boxes and shit, put the early front end on it, lower it a bit and paint it and call it good, that's what I'd do if it were mine.

The flatbed is already sold just waiting to be picked up.. got a good offer on it and couldn't refuse considering what I'm paying for the truck..

It's going to be a truck I plan on having for the rest of my life is why I have big somewhat outrageous plans for it lol

I vote keep it a dually, and don't shorten it, it's kinda like throwing part of the truck away, you would lose fuel capacity and therefore range. I'm biased towards long beds to begin with.

I don't mind long beds at all! Just hard to find a good dually bed for a decent price in Oklahoma.. and a Dana 44 is a bit cheaper then a Dana 60 dually axle..

That is honestly the reason I'm planning on going to single wheel and shortbed..

I have a solid short bed to start too.. so unless I can find someone to trade a dually bed for my short bed I'll prolly go single wheel..

Single wheel, short bed, crew cabs are badass!

    I vote do it!

IMO, leave it long bed and dually. How does it have sentimental value if it's going to be butchered up, converted to SRW, and then to 4x4. It won't even be anywhere near the same truck. If you're going to do all that, I'd find one already done and this sentimental truck is a parts truck and can live in several other trucks.

And if it is sentimental to her then she may not see cutting it up and starting another project as "good".....

It's sentimental as in her step dad bought it when she was super young and embarrassed them by taking the kids to school in it and revving it up so everyone hears.. I'm keeping the interior exactly how it looks because that's what she remembers most about it.. and I'm keeping it red in the outside.. she told me to take the flatbed off so I sold it lol I have her stepdads other truck(02 Silverado) that she cares more about and wants it redone like factory some day... she told me to make this one how I want on the outside cuz it's "ugly" as it sits.

If it stays a long bed it will stay a dually as well.. I'll just have to find a dually front axles for the 4wd swap..
