Well I've stumbled upon a truck that the wife won't make me sale due to sentimental value on her end!

In the process of picking up and buying a 1982 crew cab that her stepdad bought when she was about 10-12yrs old as his truck for his company.. well he passed away a few years ago and I thought I had already his truck(02 Silverado). But apparently I didn't. My wife's uncle bought the truck after he passed away and I found out so I'm buying it off of her uncle now

Now on to some pics, info and best of all the PLANS.

    1982 Chevrolet C20 Crew Cab
    454 Sm465 2wd
    Dually swapped in the rear

Was a welding truck and hasn't ran in 10-12 months.

    Plans are:
1974 front clip(got a suburban with most of the parts needed)
4wd swap(either Dana 60 dually front axle to match the dually rear orrrrr find single wheel one ton axles for it and short bed it)
    Divorced 205 transfer case.
    4" lift on 33s

If I got single wheel on tons on getting wide white rally wheels and the stock Chevy caps for it and convert to shortbed too.

Paint will be red with the white center stripe.

    Bed is already sold!

    Suburban with parts I'm using!

Glad to see that a member of the family is getting some needed love and attention. I'll bet the missus won't let you stop getting it all fixed back up again.

I could only hope she won't complain like the last project lol

Will have to get rid of my duramax to help fund the project though..

Very nice, hope it goes well for you. I don't see many crew cabs out here and those I do are ran into the ground so it's always neat to see them cared for.

Sounds like the making of a drivetrain swap to me! Just a little bit electrical work with some taps here and there with a hammer.

Well that sure poses a little bit of a problem! Nice truck for sure with that bed on there! Got a gooseneck or just a flat bed with a gate?

Good find. Even better the wife wants it running. What happened with the other square? (I've been working my butt off at work, haven't been on much)

Nice project! 73-74 front ends are the best (but I'm a little biased)!

Im thinking why not 1 tons and then do something like a flat bed conversion? Unless it's easier to find the 1 ton SRW axles?

You're not the only one a little biased toward the 73-74 egg crate grilles.
