No, it won't the affect the rear bumper mount or hitch mount at all. Or the front bumper for that matter.

Cool info. So what year was this change in the Blazer? That will sure be something I keep in mind when looking for one. 84 and later???

Man, I can't remember now. I think the break was 81-83, then 84+. I've got an old Mitchell crash parts book somewhere, I'll dig it up and find out.

Man, I can't remember now. I think the break was 81-83, then 84+. I've got an old Mitchell crash parts book somewhere, I'll dig it up and find out.

Cool. I'd like to know that. I'm 6'2 so leg room matters alot to me. And now even knowing there is a difference, I'll be checking if I go to look at some K5's. I'll want that year or newer.

Note: this book starts @ '78 on all parts so I don't have anything to verify if the part #'s or year ranges go further back.


K5 4wd frames:

78-80
81-82
83-91

K5 2wd frames:

78-80
81-82



For some reason the book does not differentiate before and after 81 on trucks and Sub's but we all know they changed. I dunno...
