Are the square body frames the same from 81-87. I have a Valley hitch that fits a 81-87 square body. When I was trying to sell someone said there was change in frames in 81-83 and 84-87.

I very well could be wrong but I've always thought that the frames from 81-87 were all the same. That is assuming you're talking about 1/2 ton versus 1/2 ton, of course. As you know, when you start getting up into the 3/4 ton and 1 ton frames I believe that those are different from the 1/2 tons.

They were referring to how the hitch would mount and fit correct.

Yes, I believe so and with that 81-87 should all be the same.

WTH could be different? Actually the only differance that I am aware even from a 73-80 and the 81-87 is the front bumper area is differant, so on front bumpers, you need to use 73-80 or 81-87, everything else was the same as far as I knew. I'd say that hitch should fit 73-87 trucks and likley 73-91 Blazers and Burbs. It would be interesting to find out why it wouldn't.

I would like to find a 3/4 ton square body to restore and put in that. Besides that I'd sell it if I had too.
