79 SWB 2.5/ 4 drop. Do you need to shorten the driveshaft normally?

Hey guys. I've got a 79 SWB that I dropped using 2.5" drop spindles up front and lowering shackles out back. I knew that I'd have to notch the one bed rail and remove a bracket riveted to the frame just under the rear of the cab on my truck, but I didn't see anywhere, with this particular drop, that it would be necessary to shorten the driveshaft. Am I not seeing something clearly? Or did I just not educate myself enough prior to installing this setup? IDK, but I'm not finding any info that pertains to my scenario...
