It's about time I started a thread for this one, it's been sitting for a while but it's time to start making progress on it again.

I think I bought this in '09, I got it in Chattanooga from a member on another forum. I had known about it for a while and always really liked the K5, but he traded it to a buddy, who promptly stripped out the interior and removed all the body trim. He agreed to sell me the Cheyenne quarter panel emblems. Before long, he traded it back to the guy I got it from. We were going to trade wheels, he wanted rallies and I wanted the old hurricane wheels, but before the deal went through he offered to sell me the entire K5 instead. My wife said OK, so we drove the K5 back to Ohio with us. In short, twice I was supposed to end up with a part of this truck, but I ended up with the whole thing.

I can't seem to find a pic right after the purchase, but there was no body trim installed and the mis-matched seats and console were the only items in the interior. It also had a bent blue hood and an ill-fitting '76 grill. It wasn't very pretty.

After installing the trim and installing an interior from an '82 K5. Door panels and dash pad are from another '77. I also installed another blue hood, but it's not bent.

I drove it for a couple months and the recent cam lost a lobe. So I put in another cam taking every cam-install/beak-in precaution known to man and then drove it another 1500 or so miles and that cam lost a couple lobes too, but not before the LF fender got clobbered by a wrecker being driven by an idiot. So I got fed up with it and haven't driven it since. I've just been collecting parts.

So here's how it sits today, awaiting some love.

And some parts waiting to go in.

Also a few other things to be installed. Steering box, 2.5 inch lift, an NP205 t-case and a front gear swap.

Now I just need to decide what I'm going to do first. Right now I'm thinking lift.

2.5 in front and 3 in back. Just enough so I don't have to trim the NOS fender at all.

    Lol.

And I put those mirrors on it. Someone had put aftermarket dumbos on it and they got in the way of the wing windows. The truck originally had the sport mirrors so that's what I put back on it. I think they look like more of a classic truck mirror too.

I agree, the sport mirrors have more style, mine came factory also. Nice looking K5 bucket.

I've had an old light bar kicking around for a while, it was supposed to go on the Suburban. I set it up on the Blazer and it just looks 'right' to me, so that's where it's going to go. It needs and inch or two taken out of it.

Pic of the Windstar fans. Not the prettiest wiring by the PO, but it works well.

The old motor. I swiped the carb to use on my Impala and the headers were put on my C10 a few weeks ago. I have a Holley 670 Street Avenger for the 454 and a set of Nova headers that hopefully fit in the Blazer.

More parts gone, the Blazer no longer needed that stuff either. It's all getting donated to the 350 going in the C10.
