I’m restoring my truck and have a rebuilt 700r and turbo 350 and both transfer cases have been rebuilt as well I think the 74 has the 203 which I’ve been told is all time so I’m wondering what would be the better trans and transfer case to use the trucks just gonna be a weekend driver here and there

The 700r4 transmissions built prior to '87 are generally weaker than those built after. I would use the th350, myself, and a different t-case. Unless overdrive in the trans is a priority.

both have pros and cons the 700r4 will need lockup wiring and the throttle valve cable MUST be set up correctly. prior to 88 they had alot of problems most of which are fixed if properly updated. the 350 tried and true but no lock up or overdrive but simpler to install. the 203 can be converted to part time if you want to use it..

the frames should be very similar . when i switched from a th350 to 700r4 in my 77 c10 i had to elongate a couple holes in the cross member.
