I've been searching for a flywheel cover for my 83 K10 with a 700R4 with no luck. I can find the ones that are for the cars which don't fit, I have tried. Any guys up here with a 700R4 on their truck and can point me in the right direction.

I think I may have a spare, if you need the one for a 4x4. Do you need the rods too?

Forgive my ignorance in this area but what are the rods for? Thought I just bolted it on.

If your truck is a 4x4 there should be plates between the motor mounts and block that have hole towards the rear of the truck. The rods bolt to these on one end and to bosses on the bottom of the cover on the other end. The cover is heavier than the two wheel drive cover and is designed to help the tie drivetrain together.

Yes, you want the rods too if you can find them. The rod from the transfer case to the bell housing and those strut rods on the cover to the block make everything stronger and more tolerable of abuse and breaking mounts and powertrain shifting.
