Hey guys,

I bought a 1984 C20 that originally came with a 6.2, swapped to a 6.5. I like the fuel economy of it, but it's loud, smokey and slow. I'd rather just rip it out and put a small (or big) block in it. My question, is what are my options for retaining the hydroboost? According to a couple googled forums, the diesel accessories will not bolt to a SBC/BBC. Are there accessories (hopefully serpentine setup with a/c) that'll let me retain the hydroboost?

The GMT-400 454's usually had hydroboost. My 97 K2500 Suburban with 454/4L80e had serpentine belt, AC, and hydroboost. If you were to swap in one of those motors it would probably be a direct fit.

Hydro boost was installed depending on vehicle GVW. Big block, small block diesel all had them. I don't think any brackets from a diesel fit BB or SB but the accessories themselves should interchange. Others should be able to help further.

I replaced a diesel with a BB.
The only bracket I needed was the lower power steering pump mount from a BB as the 6.5 was not compatible.
