my dad and I recently pulled this out of its resting place, where it has been since 91. My grandfather bought it used however many years ago. Dad wants to get it running and use it around the farm. Just thought I would share some pics. My cousin has a 60’s model C60 on our property too, ex forest service truck. I’ll get some pics of that this weekend.

First time moving in 27 years. That’s an in-line 6 in there. I thought it was interesting that there are no door locks.

51 ford pickup, and his rollback he uses to drag more stuff home lol. He’s also got a 49 Chevy 2 door, and a 55 Ford 2 door he’s working on, besides my truck. He’s ready to get mine done so he can work oom his again. He’s also got a Nissan pickup, and an 80s dodge diesel that a local farmer wants him to do paint and body work on.

That's not a 55, maybe a 65.

Cool vehicles. Do some homework on the beetle VIN. First year of the superbeetle was 1971 aka 1302 model and 1973-on aka 1303. The dead giveaway are macphereson struts in the front on all supers as opposed to torsion beam suspension.

My first car was a 1302 that I bought with no floor pans I restored when I was 14 & 15 with my dad. We’ve restored quite a few air cooled vws and Porsches together since then.

I’m leaning toward a 1972 with that tail light/decklid combo

I could very well be mistaken on the years of a couple of these. It’s hard to keep them all straight lol

1962 C60. Last year for the 235/261 stovebolt six. Most likely backed by an SM420 and 2 speed rear with low and lower gears. Pretty bulletproof engines. If you turn the inside handle a certain way it should lock the door. Or atleast that is how the 47.5-55.1 trucks are. It might have only a key hole on the passenger side since it was at one time against the law to enter or exit on the drivers side when parallel parked on a street.

This is a 53 one ton I got running, it has a later 235 in it. Rebuilt carb and It fired right up, 30lbs oil pressure and smokes like a banshee.

Yeah, I was thinking a '62 or '63 with a 64-66 hood. Nice old fleet you guys have there.

Seeing you have lots of old stuff laying around, do you by chance have a '68 suburban frame or complete vehicle in that fleet? I have a '68 D60 that I need a panhard bar frame mount for, and either the mount or pictures of it would be a plus. It's a '68 3/4 ton burb only item, so it's rare. They came with big blocks and 3.54 gears.

I think if you push the door handle forward it should lock the door.

Yes, push it down it locks, pull up it opens the door. If there was locks in the handle too, one door could be double-locked from the handle and from the inside.
