That would be a very good price in my neck of the woods.

Same with me.

I've seen just the front axle out of those for $3,000 here.

He only wants $800 for the truck, it's the fire hose that's bringing the price

All depends on where you're standing in this country as to how great of a deal that is. Like bucket said, in his part of the world that's a good deal. I paid more than that for mine, and had to go through some wiring before it would start and run like it was supposed to. Hell, the interior on that one even looks better than mine did.

A rust free 5/4 ton for 5k would probably sell for close to that in the rust belt. I sure as hell wouldnt pay it but I can see it selling.

Around here that’s a totally fair price, keep in mind these trucks are few and far between on the gov websites. Where as 5 years ago you could still buy them for 1k-2k

I would balk at the price and try to talk him down, but $5,000 is fair for the condition of the truck if the market is right. My '65 Crusty Biscuit was on craigslist for $4,700 and I was able to get it for $3,500 and it needed lots of work.

Exactly. It's a solid truck, it's a 1 ton, Detroit rear and desirable 4.56 gearing. Anyone wanting a good strong old Chevy, those are the items that bring the money. Not many people want anything to do with a 6.2 anymore, but 5k would still be a really good price here. A gasser swap could potentially add a few grand.

That's a reasonable price for a military k10 with tons here.
