The switch is bad, already have the replacement in hand. Is there any way to get it off without having to drop the transfer case? Got a crescent wrench on it today but didn’t have room to turn it. Any ideas? Deep socket maybe?

Id remove the trans mount and then lower it down to the cross member and see if that gives enough room.

Oddly enough, I have the same problem on my 1990 with np241. Bought a new switch, but after I reached up in there, I figured I’d just pay a mechanic to do it next time I have a reason to take it to a shop and get it on a lift. They probably have specialty tools they can use and, maybe more importantly, smaller hands to reach up in there :)
