Going soon to pick a part to look for 3 point seat belts to install in my 74 C10. What year vehicles will work best to swap easily?

Any year should work ok. Probably rear seat belts from a '89-'91 crew cab would work too. Maybe '88, I'm not sure when they started getting shoulder straps in the rear.

I wouldn't trust seat belts that are sitting in a junk yard for so many years. Even race car belts are changed often.

After a lot of thought about seat belts, have decided to buy new. Can someone recommend new belts that are an easy replacement and from where for my lap belts. There are threaded holes on each side behind trim that can accept the shoulder mount. Probably getting black.

What do you mean "plastic sleeves"?
I think he's referring to the sleeves that go over the 'receiver' end of the belt that goes through the seat.

OK, got it. Is it better to have plastic sleeves or not? Or is it a personal preference?

Here's a couple. I think I used Seat Belts plus on my last truck. Sorry I don't have a better picture. I didn't use the plastic sleeves.

Thanks. I like the seat belts plus. Was this an easy upgrade? Is the 12" buckle side plenty?
Is the add on installation hardware needed for each set, or can I use existing hardware and get new bolts for shoulder mount? Are they long enough?

Preference. On my 76 I had to trim them to get the seat back in cause I couldn't get them to flex enough to cooperate. Their biggest use I think is to keep the middle belt buckle where it needs to be so it doesn't fall into the abyss behind the seat.

I replaced the seatbelts in that truck for 2 reasons, I changed from a blue interior to gray (old belts were blue) and the webbing was very worn looking. I was able to use all of my original belt retainer bolts, but I did buy the hardware kit as you need the L brackets and bolt that mount the new retractors to them. I didn't use those large washers. I figured $10 for 2 kits was worth my time, instead of having to chase down parts. You can just buy the brackets (FAB-1000-3) for $1.50 ea and get your own bolts.

The 12" webbing if fine for the bucket side. I would venture to guess in the above picture my buckles were pulled out all the way. The seat was all the way back up against the cab wall. If I recall, I bought the 60" lap belts for the center. If I had kept that truck, I was going to shorten that one a bit.

You will need a bolt on the B pillar similar looking to the one below. You only need the shoulder to be wide enough to fit the upper loop of the belt. The bolt is hidden under a cover. Summit carries them for about $7 ea. You need to verify if you have standard or metric threads. I'd guess standard in your case.

I was just thinking, you may need a longer shouldered bolt if you have interior trim panels. You don't want the swivel binding.

I just put in new 3 point belts in my 73 short cab bench seat truck. Not near any of my order info, but ask away for install questions.

Was this an easy upgrade? Looking at my lap belts, not sure how to do this. I am going to use this belt.

Did yours mount easy on the retractor portion? Any tips? I have the threaded bolt holes for the shoulder mount under the B pillar cover. Anything else that I may need to know before ordering.
