I literally ripped the center console out of my 78 K5 with my bare hands and throw'd it up against the garage door.
It was a piece of **** and it deserved nothing less!

In its place, I installed a center console from a 2024 Chevy Tahoe.
It has cup holders, an upper storage compartment, a seat, and a lower storage compartment.

Best . Upgrade . Ever.

Haven't gotten around to taking pics yet, but ya I can do that I spose. It think its a great upgrade. Gives the cab more of a "cockpit" type feel, it looks great, lots of storage, and its also really nice to have a flat level place to set things. Having the armrest there is great too. Usually (not always) woman don't care about this kind of stuff. I have done dozens of upgrades to the rig inside and out. This is the first Blazer upgrade so far that got an enthusiastic "I like it!" out of the Mrs.

Um, the '73-'80 center consoles have some pretty good value these days. Even ones that need repair. Not sure you should be proud of destroying one.

Gee, all of those have cup holders............

Also, they are built where they could hold ice. I've never done it yet, but I've thought about putting a drain tube through the floor.

I will admit, the mod is a nice upgrade if done correctly. I love my interior with the addition of the 2015 Silverado Console. Mounting is the key.

The jump seat function works good for the dog :) The floor shifter and twin sticks keeps that pesky potential 3rd rider away!
