I would like to put a 2" or 2.5" suspension lift on my 76 K10 its all stock right now with the negative arch and needs redone anyway. My first question is do I need a body lift as well. Second does anyone have a breakdown on the parts i wouldn't mind building my own? If not recommendation for brands? Companies etc's? I don't do any massive off-roading just forest roads and old two tracks out in the desert Thanks.

You don't necessarily need a body lift, companies like Tuff Country offer 2.5" kits. Try Off Road Design or Diy4x as vendors.

Check out offroaddesign. Even if you don't buy from them check out their website. A good source of parts and information. They know these trucks.

http://offroaddesign.com/catalog/2inchliftsystem.htm

This should get you in the right direction and show you some options.

I would go with the ORD parts and take their advice in order to have a good riding truck regardless of what amount of lift you end up going with.
