Hey as yall know I totalled the red c20. Ill start stripping it down. In the meantime I bought an 84 k 10. Runs and drives although it needs a lot of work. I plan on using rhe engine and trans and pretty much everything I can out of red. Interior and glass and rubber etc. The axle in this k10 is junk. Ive got a donor axle 3:73 posi eith brand new brakes and drums im goin to put in. transfer case says 208 on it, among other things. Any info on this case? The truck has a 305 or 350 not sure but has a 700r...I really want to swap in my 4L80e but will it work with that teansfer case? This is a big question I have. They also put the spacers for the trans caseabove thw frame instead of between so the case is too high and the driveshafts are barely stuck in. gotta fix fhat

Anyways ill be posting updates as I go thanks for any help

I saw the other posts too about Big Red. That truly sucks.

Looks like you have a decent replacement that will get some quality parts from big red.

I don't know anything about the 208 or if the 4l80e will bolt up, but I am now subscribed.

Glad you're okay after the wreck. I had a similar thing happen years ago, tried to avoid an accident and became the accident.

VERY sorry to see what happened to red but under the circumstances I'm glad that it's remaining good parts will be put to good use and make that K10 a nice truck :) Looks like it's a decent starting point then with C20's good stuff should be a nice truck when you're done. Making the most out of a crappy situation :(

The 208 from behind a 700r will not go behind a 4l80e with out an adapter and input shaft swap. The 4l80e shares the same adapter input shaft as the 400 so a tcase from it would work, the adapter I'm not so sure of. However you Could find an adapter out of a driver's drop Chevy and it should work. But the 208 behind a 4l80e may not work either due to the fact that the 208 has a cable Speedo drive and the 4l80e needs the vss (vehicle speed sensor) for. I here there are some after market adapters to solve that but there is a 241 passenger drop tcase that was in 90 and 91 blazers and subs that would fix the vss problem.

Just get the tcase and wiring along Toth the electronic Speedo cluster and swap it in.

But then again I'm just a dumbarse 18 year-old. Lol

I think the power guts will swap over to the manual doors, Never tried it, but I know it works in other applications.

Ivw decided to leave the 700r on the truck for now...and bolt my engine up. This Will get me going quicker. Fool with the 4L80e later. I started pulling things out of red. Got headers, bell housing bolts and converter bolts left and ill pull it out. I want a bigger cam, some chop, I have that shit summit 1102 now...also going to do some smooth valve covers, shiny red paint and ceramic coated headers. When I pull the white truck engine im going to swap out the pass inner fender with the red trucks a then clean the hell out of the engine bay...and paint everyrhing black. I want it super clean. Im excited. Any ideas on a cam? I will probably call a cam company tomorrow and talk to a tech
