Greetings fellow Square body owners! As I am beginning my re-assembly of my 1990 700R4 transmission rebuild I noticed the rear case bushing has two notches on it. I did make a note of how the original came out but I don't see the purpose of the notches. There's no corresponding holes or indentations in the rear of the case AND some transmission parts companies carry a solid design bushing with NO notches at all. I wonder if it's just so you won't grab the wrong bushing since it looks to be a Babbitt material instead of the other bushings? Any ideas???? THANKS to all for your assistance.
