Went to get a clean suburban with just couple of things remaining to get it running. Turned out to be kind of tore up example with possibly tampered odometer. Decided to get it anyway. Need to get it running and then likely a parts vehicle for my red truck. Already found couple of snags that make me question work that was done to it. Thermostat housing and threads issues, under dash wiring and few other things. Retapped and cleaned threads and installed correct thermostat neck. Not much threads on one of the holes but it tightened up. Starter had a broken solenoid, but I had a parts starter with working solenoid.

I should have looked at this thing before getting a trailer. Sellers view of it is different from reality. Been getting annoyed due to a bunch of things missing. Trans cooler lines, starter bolts, trans dipstick tube, torque converter bolts, various bolts and hardware. Probably scattered around his yard. Far from needing radiator and battery only. Thankfully I seem to have most of the missing things stashed so it is still slowly coming back together.

Putting it together for now. If all works and ac is cold then I think will be trying to sell it. If something else comes up wrong probably a partout. Interior is wore, and just about every body panel has a dent. I really wanted to turn it in to a long 2wd blazer, but nobody will want to buy it if I do so. Has interesting mechanical spedo setup.

Temp and goofy rad setup. Did not want to spend money on new radiator just to find trans is dead or something else. Camaro donating its radiator for temp use. I did bend up some upper brackets to hold it in.

Almost ready, trans dipstick from 98 camaro took some convincing to fit, and I stole some starter bolts from friends Jimmy.

Supposed to be done, but problems as usual. Had to put a spare power steering pump on as the one on there was leaking and no fuel or spark. Got fuel going after finding a blown fuse, but still no spark. Engine in the back is for the red truck.

Which fuse was that? Does that one have an INJ fuse, or was it the ECM-I...?

One of the ecm fuses, was hoping it will give me spark too, but no luck. This had some remote alarm installed before, have to make sure that is not an issue. There is a wiring mess under the dash and even wipers are wired to a togle switch.

Jeez. Another wannabe electrician PO. It looks like a solid Burb with a lot of potential.

Two more fuses have no power(crank and instr lamp). Removed old alarm system. Still same spark situation

Had to use my good gm ignition module(always cary it in the other suburban just in case) and connector. Open element storage by po and too much force are likely to blame. It runs, but will not idle, need to check valves and verify iac works. Some fresh fuel would probably help too.

And officially will be moving over to a parting out thread. PO had to know trans was shot when he cleaned the pan off and put it back. A number of other things add to the pot.

Was almost a waste of time getting it running. All going apart. Rust free frame and body if somebody up north has a way of picking it up.
