Hey dudes! I was here awhile back with the C10 in my avatar.. Long story short wound up getting a used HO 305 that smoked like a bat outta hell and leaked oil like crazy, was done with it at that point and traded it off. Anyway, I'm back in a square finally! Bought a 1988 Suburban with the Silverado package, 350, 700R4, 3.42 gears, has front buckets with console, third row seat, barn doors, according to the RPO codes factory receiver hitch. I'll list all the RPO codes in the thread after work tomorrow. Anyway, I paid $1200 for it, my buddy I bought it from installed a billet grille and some euro tails.. I don't much like the billet grille, but I can live with the euro tails. I wanna either do a 73-79 front clip swap or an 89-91, IDK yet.

Anyway, I'll get some pics posted soon. One problem I do have is none of the damned power windows work. I've checked fuse, can't locate where the ground is, and don't know if it's that or the driver switch. Thought of doing a J/Y run and seeing about finding a switch I could try to see if that's the culprit. It's murder in 90+ degree weather with only vent windows and an A/C that blows only hot for right now...

    Welcome back Caspian.
You have a nice rig with the 88.
First is to make sure You are getting power to the switches. If no power there, might be a broken wire{s} in the flex boot between the door and the door frame.

Nice, we need all the OK members we can get. You know we're overrun by all these damn Texans.

No worries on the power windows. When you're ready we can get to those too. Fire up a new Build Thread in the correct Category of the Under Construction Section, 2wd Burb or 4wd Burb.

When you say checked fuses for the windows.... They actually use a circuit breaker. It plugs into a fuse socket but it's a rectangular metal tin can looking thing, big compared to the size of a fuse. The grounds are on the driver side kick panel above the park brake pedal. Just above the plastic and up behind the dash if memory serves. It's a junction block screwed, bolted or riveted to the sheetmetal. Many times it's the ground junction block has lost ground.

Welcome back! Is it an R Burb or a V Burb? Either way, sounds very nice. I vote for the 89-91 front cap swap, myself, but it's your truck and your decision. The O'Reilly where I live has a set of square body taillights on the shelf that've been collecting dust forever. Yours may have one, too, or a set you can order.

It's an R10. I thought I posted in the right section @HotRodPC but I guess not..

I'll check that junction for ground. I can't get my front air to come on constantly either, It's got a short somewhere I guess as it'll kick on sometimes when driving and shutoff.. if I can figure that out I could have working AC...

I'll get a build thread started either tonight after work or tomorrow on it.

OK, I get it now. This was to be your build thread. I can move it. Just carry on. You know we're going to need some pics. Nothing has changed as far as being pic whores.

I have it up on ramps right now, started to try to do a filter/fluid service change til I found out the trans crossmember covers the back bolts on the pan. I gotta get a swivel to deal with that issue.

I decoded them some, how I found out the receiver hitch is factory. I'll type it all up that I can decode myself, some I couldn't find.

Blower motor is fixed, messed up connection is why it would work intermittently, but I need a new condenser, has a busted line right where its welded to the condenser.. also discovered that someone bypassed the heater core... little things at a time.
