1987 windshield wipers

My wipers only work on high almost like they are on a toggle switch stop where they are when shut off slow down over heat and stop have replaced everything am lost

I do have intermittent wipers have replace the box under the column with a new ac delco one

It may be the actual stalk. Which are also expensive, and somewhat hard to find in chrome with cruise and delay wipers. If you dont feel like further troubleshooting try and locate one for sale from a seller who takes returns and just swap it to see if it works.

The stalk doesn’t control the wipers. The stalk pushes into the wiper switch that is in the column. It is the pivot that works the high beam rod and has the turn signal switch link hooked to it.
