Hey everyone, I just picked up another square body and am have some issues finding the correct brake code for the truck.
2wd, STEPSIDE
6.2 diesel

I’ve already gone thru the front caliper swap. Found out the ones they first gave met were to narrow. Went and swapped for the wider ones and back together.
Now I’m going for the master cylinder and there is this bore size issue that has been a issue for the parts house.
if you measure the outside 2 outside of the bore it measures right at 1.5”.

now I have that they want a brake code. I don’t have it because it’s pre 85.
Anyone out there know about these hydro boost systems?

I understand 82 is difficult as first year of 6.2 and Silverado badging.

Thank you

1982 c10 diesel uses the JD3 brake system.

Hey Keith,
Thank you for your response. I have really been thru the ringer on this one. Here’s the strange thing , mine is a diesel 6.2. The front rotors are 1 1/4“ width. The JD3 shows 1”.
Replaced the master cylinder and it has the 1 1/5” bore from the hydro boost pump. Rear shoes are 2 3/4” wide.
Now even after replacing all rubber lines front and rear, new calipers, pads, master cylinder, I still have basically no pedal. It will stop by pressing it to the floor board. Not good though.
This one has stumped me. My 84 6.2 to 5.7 conversion truck the brakes a tight as a tick.
Thank you and any help is much appreciated!

Snapshot of door sticker. With it being a 5200 , I agree it should be JD3
