Can anyone tell me where their temperature gauge hand is at whenever their engine is up the temperature on the 80 80s GMC Sierra with a 305 and 700R4 because I've got my temp sensor in the intake by the water neck where the thermal vacuum switch used to be and my hand don't go past the first line which is only a quarter of the way is that normal or does that mean it's running cold or am I not getting a good read because of the positioning of the sensor just need some tips on you guys's gauges hands and if mine's reading the normal temp or that's too cold

You need to put the sender in the cylinder head or intake manifold you won't get accurate readings at the thermostat housing
