Got charged one hour @$85 to get my truck out of that shop.
It didnt even have power steering fluid in it!
It had about 2.5 quarts of motor oil though and...it needed seven quarts of transmission fluid @ $8 each.
Im gonna drive her home tomorrow probably a mile and a half.
I worked on it a long time today and left it "ready to go".
Gary and I can't come to terms on price so i'm gonna put more parts on it but there is a Honda in my driveway.
Babe is going to see some road time, cool deal!
I have no idea what to do with that truck!
Why is this a thing?
It needs to find a home. Gary offered $5500 for the pair - if hed say six he could have em both. Lol sad face.
Use it as a cool-weather truck to round up the asshole bad guys. You can stack a lot of 'em in an 8 foot bed.
Woke up and started fixin the Honda tho. Delivered it and went to American Camaro
Drove it home yo.
Walked back to get the Blazer all before noon.
Goes to work @6p.
Just like that. You know what i'm sayin?
It was runnin so good and doing so well that I stopped in Agent Tony's to say "look. It's real, see?"
All covered with no tag..wat. He's between my house and the Camaro yard...
Leavin it decided to lay rubber ?
Hold. on. Dobbin.
Upped Our previous ten feet in ten years record to about a mile and a half with accidental wheelspin included. Beat that!
Let em know what goes on Babe.
No other testing lol. I hit the street in the cover of LUNCHTIME. Left the ten foot test bed in the dust haha and drove directly to my Insurance Agent.
You need to air up the tires
Guess I didnt pay enough to have that done either..
It's funny what people look at. Gary asked about the other turn signal then wanted to know about the bumper.
You look at the air pressure.
What else do y'all see?
For the $ 85.00 diagnostic fee they just plugged in the OBD II port and ...
Oh, wait ...
I bet the sway bar was gonna be a huge deal and that was right. It took a lot of effort to get all of that prior collision damage repaired but boy does it drive fantastic! ?
The brakes seemed very okay but I didnt use em much too much because I mostly wanted to make it all the way home.
I've got a 1980 one ton? Accessory / bracket set I think here with AC compressor and associated everything else minus hoses.
Need a new evaporator been lookin at hoses.
Bonnie's AC seemed easy and cheap to fix? I want to fix it?
Another 3 or 4 grand to finish her?
You think that much? A $10,000 C20? She looks like she could pull it off. IF she had AC.
I mighta found a floorpan guy already though - the OTHER Camaro mechanic.
I think the passenger axle is leaking now.
The transmission leaks quite a bit too it seems.
We'll have a look some time except I dont have to get up tomorrow. First time in eleven days or something - I can sleep late.
Ya know I was leaving Agent Tony's before realizing I didnt roll the windows down...i'm not convinced that is a positive haha?
Maybe the concrete underfoot was helping.
Lucky I thought to wash the windows though yesterday.
Sleepin late! Yeah!
Im anxious to play with my truck but need a day off after 5x12s last week.
I got a compressor like this : an A6.
The manifold and hoses are cheap, like 75 bucks cheap.
Cuz im like fack! A 1977.
Thats pretty good for a truck.
It's all ONE COLOR ....a good one too.
they sell new bumpers...
Wtf u talkin about turn signals? That's a twenty dollar fix.. /smh
The. gauges. work. Mmmkay?
I bought the damned tag today.
I even aired up the tires. didn't drive it anywhere tho..fiddin to drop tank.
I see only the outside one inch of the inside rear rotor is catching pad...and I think the passenger side axle leaks now.
One step at a time, one step at a time. You got Bonnie so Babe can get done slowly, and correctly.
Plus side is that you push the AC $'s back ...
Hay you know what else works?
The dadgum door buzzer!
Wat a trip!
I bet I heard it two or three times before it dawned on me - IT STOPPED.
Woah timer pwn.
Never heard Babe make that sound before ?.
It starts easier than the Blazer!
and it gets all the attention lately...
Yesterday I acknowledged FIVE YEARS has passed since I quit smoking.
Allow me to post some screen grabs of the Smoke Free app I have grown to love.
All monies reflect today's pricing of $8.95 a pack for 20 Marlboros in today's Oklahoma.
I stopped before I had to pay 5 bucks a pack.. That was for sure gonna be the hard stop!
I was buying 2 packs daily of Carnival Menthol for $7.00 USD when I finally give it up using Chantix.
I had already quit smoking Marlboro because IT WAS 5 bucks a pack..Carnival was $3.50.
Went to the Doctor to get a physical for a prescription and he had a two week free sample. Wrote the prescription anyway but I never filled it. I was all done ten days later after TWENTY FIVE YEARS as a smoker.
I stopped in TEN . DAYS .(after I wanted to)
That. stuff. works.
The health improvement results frickin saddening no? Time spent not smoking is calculated at five minutes per cigarette.
I think I'd rather die than start smoking again...that is NOT in my cards but if I told you I don't ever think about it...? I'd be lying.
Still catch myself looking in ashtrays for good snipes..it's ridiculous.
Cigarettes not smoked? That's a real number. Just like $32,000.
Here's a great app. I don't use the cravings feature anymore. On an old phone maybe
It happened in this very thread...thank you for your support.
Congrats @Rusty Nail My parents quit back in the 90s. Pop went cold turkey, mom used welbutrin. When they got married, I was 19, mom moved in and there was a spider plant. With both of them smoking the plant nearly died but then came back. About ten years later when they quit smoking, the same spider plant nearly died again because of the fresh air. They still have the plant and are still smoke-free. That is awesome how much money you've saved and time gained as well as the health benefits.
