I'm fiddling with my latest square body project, it's a cool old 1975 350 V8 SM465 tow truck that I removed the Holmes lift from. It has a leak on the hydroboost unit and I'm having trouble finding a replacement one. The one in it now has casting "Bendix 2771169" on the side. I've tried all my usual parts sources, and searching the net, with no luck. Any ideas on where to get one? Also, I've seen several 454 C30's with auxiliary reservoirs for the power steering pump, but this 350 doesn't have one. Were they not used on small blocks?

I don't "think" the small block ever used a remote reservoir in these trucks. Where is the unit leaking?

Thanks, bucket. It was leaking by the accumulator. LOL, it had a piece of shop cloth ziptied on it. Yesterday I found a local business to rebuild the whole unit. It should be ready to pick up Monday.

That seal is just a basic o-ring that's not hard to replace, but I'm sure an overhaul won't be a bad thing. It's old, lol.

Good question Outlaw Way. And good to hear it's on the way to getting resolved. Follow up on the project if you can.
and...
not to derail A thread I hope continues, but tell us more about the truck. Did it have the extra short wheelbase? Wondering how they pulled that off
and what other mods (suspension) were done to support wrecker duty. thanks
