I went to one of our local tire and rims shop today to try to get the same set up for my truck like this pic I'm posting. I couldn't tell if they were 295/50/15's but i thought they were. I like this look. The shop told me he thought they were 275/60/15 and he thought that would be good on my truck but 20's would offer more options and that he would prolly rather the 20's than 15's.

Question 1. Is it a bad idea to get the 15's , due to them being phased out?

Question 2. Do you think the tires on the pic are 295/50/15 or no?

Question 3. what drop would you guess this truck has?

Question 4. As a daily driver would the drop and the 295/15 cause any rubbing or other issues?

Sorry about all the questions,I don't know about lowering of trucks and i haven't had a drink or a smoke in 4 weeks... imma a chatty patty

We're going 18's. 20 = too big...15 = too small. For my taste.

1)Haven't heard 15's are being phased out, they're just not as popular as they were in the 80's.
2)Drop, maybe 4/6 or 5/7.
3) No way of telling from that pic on size, specially the sidewall size.
4) Issues with drop would depend on how it was done. Spring or spindle.

295/50-15 rears 10x15 wheels , 245/60-15 fronts 8x15 wheels. Personally i like old school 15's, but it's you truck pick what you like... I doubt 15's will ever be phased out there just not as common any more.

There may be less options for 15s nowadays than there were years ago, but is still a very common size tire so you don't have to worry about them being "phased out". But if you want to get something a little bigger you could do 17s or 18s and yes there will be many more options.

I think it's funny this guy jumped straight from 15 to 20 like there is nothing in between. 20s look ridiculous IMO, and even though there may be more options, tires for 20" wheels are MUCH more expensive than smaller sizes. If you don't want 15s then upgrade, but don't let some fool at a tire shop make you think you have to get 20s, yuck.

There's a BIG difference between 15s and 20s, price, performance, looks, etc. 20s will change the whole appearance of your old truck, personally I think they ruin the look of any older vehicle, very disproportionate to the styling of the body. Giant obnoxious rims come standard on newer vehicles, but the bodies are designed around such huge wheels to look normal.

It’s all spring on the drop. It was like that when I got her. it looks to me like a ghetto drop LOL. Heated springs is my bet. If I hit a bump harder than I mean to, it can rub. But only on the drivers side. That’s a result of heated springs not being very consistent on the spring rate.

Guessing that's at least a 5/7, springs/spindles on front, flipped and notched out back.
That truck probably hasn't left the driveway cause it still has the air dam on it. It will surely be ripped off.

295/50r15 here. same tire Ventus H101

On all 4 corners? Those look like a different offset than stock steels.
