Looks about right to me. Maybe a tic of pinion shim. Were you able to measure pinion depth, or just repeating what was already there?

I went with the external shim that the original gear set/housing used. Not to sure how to measure pinion depth without the tool that goes in place of carrier bearings. Is there a way?

You'd have to check the gear manufacturer's instructions. Most aftermarket companies use a different system than GM. Either way, you need tools to do it. Since it looks like you're about 95% of the way there I'd just follow the instructions for the shimming to get the contact pattern right.
