Would a set of 3.73's be worth swapping into my 14 bolt, I can't even do 120km/h on the highway with the 4.10's, the other route I'm thinking is an NV 4500 swap stay with the 4:10's or 3:73's if I decide the swap, if I could find one would even consider an nv6500 and I hope to do a 454/ or 427 tall block swap one day

with 3.73 gears a nv4500 and 35 inch tires in my 85 i can barely use 5th gear.

i do not know what you have for tire size but you will loose alot going to 3.73 gears i say ad overdrive.

in my crew cab i plan to use 4.10 gears 35'' tires and the nv4500. and i may have to go with lower gears.

is your truck 2 or 4 wheel drive

ya with a small tire you could gain alot going to 3.73 gears

drop your cruising rpm at higher speeds but you will loose some bottom end power

i still say ad a overdrive tranny even if you go 3.73 gears

do you tow with it or haul anything heavy

if its just a driver no heavy towing or hauling i would for sure go to the higher gears. but if you need the power i would just do overdrive and keep the 4.10 gears.

That's not as cool as having a stick though haha, I've thought about doin a 700r4 swap too for simplicity of driving but I also would like to swap in a bb Chevy someday, the truck won't ever do any major hauling maybe a quad or dirtbike in the box at most

My 2wd Burb has 3.73's with 235/85/16's, I think the gearing is perfect. Slightly sluggish off the line, but it's right in it's powerband at highway speeds. It will cruise 75+ mph all day long.
