It has been awhile since i worked on my 82 K10... For Christmas i might gift myself a 1" socket set. I forgot... is there a lot on these trucks?... and what locations? i.e frame, any cross-members, maybe axles, or suspension.

Sorry, I forgot. I was most curious about the frame, any cross-members, maybe axles, or suspension.

A 1" socket or a 1" drive socket set?

7/8 is pretty much the biggest on these trucks. Balljoints may be an inch but I can't remember now.

Nothing else is bigger. Maybe a pitman arm nut. U bolt nuts are 15/16 most of the time.

Worked as a mechanic for over 40 years. Only time ever needed a 1" drive set was for heavy equipment and 5 ton thru tractor trailers. I'm good with a 3/4 drive set with a 3/4 to 1" adapter. I would rather buy a quality 3/4 impact first and 1" drive socket size I needed than a complete 1" set.

1” is fairly common for fittings on some plumbing or hydronic systems, but usually you need an open end wrench.

I had to use a 1 1/8” open end just last week to hold the fitting while I tightened up a gas line on a duel-fuel range. I don’t remember when I bought that odd size open end wrench, but it was probably for some other plumbing task.

1 1/8 combination wrench not uncommon in my old profession.....Alignment. A lot of old, 65-70 GM products, used strut rods(brake reaction rods) for the front suspension that had those large nuts on the rod and were used to set caster. Open end used on the backside and closed end on the front.

spend the money on a good quality ( dewalt / milwaukee ) 1/2" drive cordless impact wrench. With a set of 1/2" 6 sided impact sockets that will remove anything you are working on for a c/k truck. You will ask yourself why you didn't do this sooner ..
