Has anyone seen or used some 2nd row bench seats from 2007 to 2019 SUV (Yukon, Tahoe etc) in a square body?

I measured the width and seems good, but they flip down and I'm not sure it will fit the floor humps on the square body

These seats are everywhere now that cops are using these SUVs, they pull the seats out when they convert them to law enforcement

Thanks

oh god that would look horrible. What's wrong with your seat? Surely it could be fixed

2 things, the OE seat doesn't have headrests and I don't like whiplash or my head going through the rear window haha

but seriously, the original seat is completely toast from being out in the desert sun, as is the exposed foam

Given that people are terrible drivers typically and this will be my daily driver, i want the protection from being rear ended, so i want something with an integrated headrest

This is the seat I'm looking at getting

It measures 56.5" wide, need to pull some seat back height measurements

Looks narrow. sounds narrow at 56.5". I think you need to pull some original seat measurements first, to make sure any newer seats will fit. It would look goofy if you're centered on the steering wheel and your passenger has a 10 inch gap between the seat and the door. Besides looking narrow, you will most likely have some floor modifications to do, or get creative with the mounting brackets.

Whiplash is a MF'r.
I was hit in 2007 and it is a permanent issue in my case.
Neck and back never came back.

I have often thought of figuring out some sort of head rest for my truck as well.

They are indeed the right width. I was going to do the same thing with earlier seats(2002 Tahoe). The problem you will have is with the mounts, they sit way too high. Most people that do this(it has been done more than once) remove the seat brackets and make an adapter to mount the seats to the stock bench seat frame. You can alternatively create your own brackets. If you try and put them in as-is your knees would need to go THROUGH the steering wheel to be able to sit in the truck.

We have those exact same leather seats in our 2011 Suburban, but they have the center flip-down console with cup-holders. If you could find a set of THOSE seats they are nice and comfy and the flip down armrest and cupholder is nice.

Yeah, my dad is the same way, it's always in my head when I'm doing a project car

My plan was to remove the flip down brackets and make a new frame for them to bolt on

They looked tall in the pictures

Here's a thread on that other forum with those exact seats in a square. He fabricated his own mounts, but they fit well and look good IMO.

so this weekend, I pulled out the seat and started taking measurements and mocked up my new seats

the seat is a 2nd row bench out of a 2015 Tahoe, but you can use one from a 2007 to 2019 short full size GM SUV, from Yukon, Escalade etc

Im going to start working on the design of the adapter brackets, I pulled off all the old flip hardware and latches, was easier than I expected

Dont know if I will adapt to the original adjustable brackets, cannibalize the original seat frame, or build something new, we will see

I put the seat in with some 2x4s to get an idea of how it would sit, its about 1" shorter than the OE seat, which is great for me, and great since I dont have a tilt wheel

How does the recline angle compare to stock?

I'm tempted to do this too

its pretty close, the lower cushion on the tahoe is flatter, so it doesnt have that sink into a soft couch type feel, but the low back support is better

I'll get some comparison angles later on today or tomorrow

Sweet, thanks... I googled those seats and it seems I can get new ones for less than new foam and covers for my OE seat frame
