Ideal/temporary option to fill holes in

Thanks for the reponse. Off topic to this thread, but when trimming the fenders, did you do anything to stabilize them before putting the flares on? I want to trim mine, but I don't plan on adding flares. It would strictly be to add larger wheels. I've noticed that once they've been trimmed...

Ideal/temporary option to fill holes in

Thanks for the response. My truck needs a paint job done, so it seems like it would be best to get the welding and paint done at the same time. Since I'd be taking the truck in to get the welding done, is there anything I should know about since I don't any welding knowledge?

Ideal/temporary option to fill holes in

I plan on removing the driver/passenger mirrors on my suburban, and replacing them with tow mirrors, and I will also be removing the metal trim that is located right below the rear lights. I want to know what would the best option be to fill in the holes that will remain after I remove...

    Suburban fender trim help

Does anyone have any advice on how to keep fenders rigid after trimming them? I have a 1985 suburban and I'm planning on trimming both sides of the fender/s. I saw a video on youtube of someone trimming there's, and noticed that the fenders are loose because they are no longer attached to the...

Tire size for 12 inch lift on 1985 suburban?

Got another photo of the rear. You have a better eye than me so I thought I'd message you. Do you think the fenders were cut as far as they could be horizontally? They seem to still maintain the same shape of uncut fenders(to me at least), just wider. Also thought id ask you if theres any chance...

Tire size for 12 inch lift on 1985 suburban?

Hey bucket, one more question. Does the burban have both the front and back of the fenders trimmed? It looks like it to me but I want to ask you since you're more knowledgeable. I watched a video online of flares being installed on a truck, but the cuts they made had more of an angle to them...

Tire size for 12 inch lift on 1985 suburban?

Thank you again bucket. I wished I would've done more research on all this before I bought my truck. I thought it was as simple as buying the tires and lift kit and that's it. I do plan on getting the fenders cut when the time comes. Can you give me a rundown of what your vehicle is on? Thanks again

Tire size for 12 inch lift on 1985 suburban?

Sorry I should have given more detail. Neither of the trucks are mine. The look I am going after is the look of the brown truck with out the flares. I saw some photos online of the truck, and I messaged the owner asking about the details. He told me the truck had a 12 inch lift and 40in tires. I...

Tire size for 12 inch lift on 1985 suburban?

Sorry bucket. I didn't realize I didn't specify the look. I'm going after the look with out flares/ with 40s. As for the budget, I want it to be a functional vehicle, but I've seen the price on some of those brand new axles, and they're worth more than what I paid for my truck. I'm also going to...

Tire size for 12 inch lift on 1985 suburban?

Thanks for the vbb. I didn't take any offense to your comment either. One thing I should have mentioned is I also have a 2 wheel drive 1990 2500 suburban. Would it be a good idea if I were to switch the rear axle with the 1985? I'm pretty sure it's a 14 bolt. Another thing I should have...

Tire size for 12 inch lift on 1985 suburban?

Thanks for the help. The flares look pretty similar to yours. Could you give me an estimate on how much metal is cut out above the wheel? I just asked this on my other thread not realizing I could've just asked you

Tire size for 12 inch lift on 1985 suburban?

Thank you guys for the feedback. So what would be the best option if I'm on a budget? Here's some photos of what I want my truck to look like. The owner told me the tires were 40s in most of the photos and 37 in the unfiltered photo that has cut out flares. I'm not sure about the tire size in...

Tire size for 12 inch lift on 1985 suburban?

Thanks for the help bucket. I have these photos as well. He said the size of tires in the photo that's not filtered in 37 if that's any help. Obviously we can only estimate with photos but I didn't think it had a 12in lift either

Tire size for 12 inch lift on 1985 suburban?

Thanks for the info. I definitely will post some when I have a proper look for the truck. Also that bumper cars comment was just me "hypothetically" speaking hahaha..........

Tire size for 12 inch lift on 1985 suburban?

Thanks for the help. Can you help me out trying to guess the lift and tire size on this suburban? The guy who owned it told me it was a 12 in lift on 40s, but i don't think that's accurate.

Tire size for 12 inch lift on 1985 suburban?

Thanks for the help. I wish I would've known all this before buying my truck. Let's say I get the 12 inch lift and some tires in the 40in range while still on the 1/2 ton axles, how would that hold up if I were to play bumper cars? Serious question I know it sounds ridiculous but would the axles...

Tire size for 12 inch lift on 1985 suburban?

What's the biggest tire size that would fit on a 85 suburban with a 12 inch lift? I don't want to cut the fenders and I know there's other things that I would have to take into consideration like the width and wheel offset etc. Any help is appreciated thanks.

Tire size for 12 inch lift on 1985 suburban?

*Moderator's note: this thread was merged with another, some posts may seem a little repetitive* I wanted to know what's the biggest tire size that I can get while having 1/2 ton axles? I wanted to eventually get a 12 inch lift on my suburban and I was hoping to get a tire size between 40-44...
