Am I pumping and cranking too much to start

May be an illusion, but it looks like the wire is resting on the manifold. #3 boots not looking good either. Sure is a lot of porcelain showing on the plug. Unrelated to loss of fuel problem, but definitely future problems are coming.

What have you done to your square lately??

Just wrapped this up. Time will tell if the extra sleeves does the job. Now if I can only get my console project finished up.

What have you done to your square lately??

Got a late start last night, but I finely got er done. It was definitely time for new wires. When pulling the sleeves off the boots I came across another cracked wire... not burnt thru yet. You would think at over 1800 degree protection from the sleeves this wouldn’t happen. The titanium wire...

What have you done to your square lately??

Coming home work the other day and I dropped a cylinder. Petty much knew what it was as this hasn’t been the 1st time. Burnt smooth into. About an inch from the boot. It’s between 3 & 5. I even use a straight boot on this one with 6” boot sleeves. I keep spare wires so just had to make up...

What have you done to your square lately??

Haven’t done anything yet, but I got this in the mail yesterday. Ordered it September 16, shoulda been here December 16, but they had a stabbing at the prison they’re made at and went on lockdown for awhile. The reason I went with this is because i’m constantly asked what year the truck is. My...

What have you done to your square lately??

Poor man’s Lenco. It’s a Kilduff shifter. Patterned after the old Hurst lightning rod shifter but no buttons to push on the sticks. Pretty good guy to deal with. Builds to your specs. Lot of haters out there on his stuff tho.

What have you done to your square lately??

Great job on the floor! Welding is one of the things I cannot do.

What have you done to your square lately??

That would be nice if it was.:) I guess it could be if i took the plate off showing what each stick did.

What have you done to your square lately??

A quick story on why I have this particular one....I have a manual reverse valve body. I have to shift every gear. On the column it’s all downward movement, PRN123. I can up or down shift with my hand on the wheel and use my little finger. After 19 years, it’s become 2nd nature? But WOT runs...

What have you done to your square lately??

Spent a little time on the console today. Got the top covered and luckily I the cut outs figured right. Once the pad and vinyl was on, the cup holders and shifter fit nice and tight. Still have to jerk the passenger seat back out and for about the 9th time, put the console back in to fit some...

What have you done to your square lately??

Been messing with the console off and on lately. Finely got around to mounting the shifter and cutting & bending the metal top. Finished the bracing under the metal this evening. Going out of town tomorrow so hopefully I can locate some flat headed bolts to stud the top for mounting. Trying to...

    Uh oh...

    Looking good.

    Uh oh...

You’ll get most grit out that way. A few years ago I knocked 3 teeth off the ring gear and 1 wedged between the pinion and ring gear and totally locked it down. Had a flat bed wrecker bring her home. Once I seen the damage, I tried several cans of brake clean but it only cleaned what was...

    Need exhaust ideas

No name 3” chambered mufflers with turnouts behind Hooker headers at idle. Cold start so I have blower surge more than usual. A little bit above idle with 3” Flowmasters

Talk me out of cutting my dash

I guess I’ll be in the minority and say go for it. It’s not like it’s fully restored. You’ve already stated you’re not selling. If you did, leave the player in. IMO, how much are you going to lose if you did sell somewhere down the road? Just my thoughts.

What have you done to your square lately??

Made a little more progress on the console. I don’t know what I picked up from holidays, but it’s been kicking my butt most of the week. Still some mocking up on the shifter position. Did get the vinyl ordered today too.

    Uh oh...

With my vast shade tree knowledge , from what I see, it looks good. Just file down any burrs that may be there. I’ve had worst without issues. Hopefully not much trash hit the bearings.

Starts but quickly dies, any low tech tips for diagnosis?

Thanks for posting the solution to your problem. Seems like a few people will come on looking for help for some problem they’re having, get a bunch of f possible fixes, and then they leave the thread open and everyone hanging if the problem was solved or not.

    Paint engine compartment?

I have them for the shotgun but took them back off...again. Less air restriction is my reasoning. I do agree with you tho, this is what it looked like without the filter on, which I mostly 4an when it was raining.

    Paint engine compartment?

Thanks. Actually the current one is a shotgun scoop. Here is the bug catcher I used to run...until the computer took a dump and I didn’t want to put another 2 grand in to replace it.
