    Look forward to the update. After I rebuilt mine all gears were easy to shift into, but that is with the engine not running as I havent got the engine running yet.

    Hi Discuspro. I have rebuilt my 465, with a full novak kit, and shift forks for good measure. I watched this guy on youtube, I have a Chevy shop manual too. But thought hey watch someone else do it before I make their mistakes !! You obviously you know what you are doing, but a relaxed look...

    Looking into it a bit more. Are your brakes JD5, JD6? This will be going on my C20, so it might work, but mine are JB7 power brakes, with a hydroboost unit it's a JD7, for me.

    I agree with Rusty, for a C20 3/4 ton 14BFF. My backing plate dia' is about 14.25". I have not taken the rear wheel off to measure the outer drum dia' but it is stamped that the inside dia' for service life of the brakes is 13.09" max. I know the shoes to order are for 13 x 2.5" brakes (JB7).

    Always good to have a plan. The most common seems to be 4.10 ratio. All depends what you want as the axle ratio. 3.21, 3.42, 3.73, 4.10, etc. Happy hunting.

    Just a thought thats all, hope it helps your problem. To get the drag link in the right area. I disconnected the pitman arm and made sure that with no load on the drag link ( I supported the end near the pitman arm with my hand) that it would move freely, and would be at the correct position...

    Did you replace the idle arm and pitman arm also? If you did they maybe out of alignment a bit causing the ball joints on the idler pitman to binde, as they dont pivot like a tie rod end.     Yep i understand your thinking. I too had dual tanks on a previous square i had in Canada. I was able to go down and back up Vancouver island with out refueling. The reasons for THIS rear tank was, as the truck will be empty most of the time 31 gals of gas is always better over the rear axle...
