    Cab leaking

My ‘80 K25 has the same problem, drips over the fuse block. One of the fuse block bolts has some surface rust from it. I was thinking of caulking it until the day I remove the cab for restoration bc I have a few holes in the floor in the usual places too.

    Rim compatibility

I still run 9.50 x 16.5 on my ‘73 C20. Had to get them online and shipped to my house. Even though I found them there wasn’t much variety. Probably going to switch to 16” when these wear out. I asked the tire guy at my local Walmart if they could get them. When I told him the size, “nine fifty...

Wiring for oil pressure switch sending unit and coolant wiring help

I saw your post about it in the other thread and I agree with what @Jgonick said. It’s probably wire #350 that goes to the oil pressure switch. If you have gauges, you have an oil pressure sender that goes to your oil pressure gauge via the #31 tan wire. If you have idiot lights then you...

Wiring for oil pressure switch sending unit and coolant wiring help

The temp sender wire, #35 on the wiring diagram, should be a small, 18 or 20 AWG green wire routed from the sender, either towards the front of intake manifold or driver side head, along the valve cover to firewall and the bulkhead connector. The oil pressure sender wire, #31 on the wiring...

Wiring for oil pressure switch sending unit and coolant wiring help

What year truck? Earlier squares had mechanical oil gauges. Do you have gauges or idiot lights? You said temp sender, which is for a gauge, but then you said pressure switch, which is an on/off switch for idiot lights. Not trying to be a butt, but need these details to help you out.

    1980 K20 Rear Diff fuild

I run 80-90 in my ‘80 K25 14BFF when it had an open diff and after installing a Detroit locker. I live in Wyoming and temps easily get to -30°F I in winter and haven’t had issues. Works fine.

    Correct source for ac vacuum

It will work and that’s what really matters. If you want it less cluttered and done ‘properly’ how the factory had it then get a two port manifold fitting for AC and trans and move the brake booster source to the carb and plug off the carb port that is not used for vacuum advance.

    Correct source for ac vacuum

Get vacuum for your brake booster from the port on the back of the carb. Ditch that straight threaded fitting for 90° elbow and point it at the brake booster. It’s easier on the hoses. Just curious, what’s the big hose on the front of your carb on the right connected to manifold vacuum port?

    Correct source for ac vacuum

My ‘73 C20 has one of these on the intake manifold, where in your third pic you have a a fitting pointing straight up. One port goes to vacuum modulator on the TH350 and the other is for the black vacuum canister in your first pic.

    78 Turn Signal Help

I’m not a pro at diagnosing turn signal issues, but I would start by checking the wires under the truck going to the tail section. If there’s a bad connection or a short it’s most likely at a splice or some sort of connection, or if wire insulation scrubbed off from chaffing. I’ve seen some...

    K 20 Body mounts 73-80 Truck

That’s crazy. I’ve only ever heard of their designation as K5, with K = 4WD. Never heard of C5. Must not have been very many of them.

    K 20 Body mounts 73-80 Truck

Never heard of a 2WD Blazer. Sounds kinda suspicious. Asking out of curiosity, what happened to the ones on the truck? It’s not like people are frequently changing those out.

Should my TBI's fuel pressure act like this?

The 1988 Factory Service Manual says in one of the diagnostic tests to note the fuel pressure in the first two seconds and the flow chart goes from there with other things to check. 9-13 psi is the correct operating range of pressure, so it seems your 12 psi of pressure means your fuel pump is...

Should my TBI's fuel pressure act like this?

Again, I’m not super knowledgeable on TBI, but with my uncle being a retired mechanic he always had the factory service manuals for every vehicle he owned and he gave them to me when he sold me his ‘88 Blazer so I had to look it up. I assume not much changed between OP’s ‘87 and 1988. Some TBI...

Should my TBI's fuel pressure act like this?

For full disclosure I’m a carb guy through and through and my knowledge of TBI is limited, but I have an ‘88 K5 with 350/700R4 that’s 100% stock. I bought it from my uncle who is the original owner, he’s a retired mechanic and does all his own work. When he sold me the Blazer he gave me a heads...

Instrument Panel Lights Staying on When Truck is Off

He said the lights don’t turn off even when pulling the fuse. Sounds like the fuse block was wired wrong.

Instrument Panel Lights Staying on When Truck is Off

If you can, pull the fuse block off and look at the back side to see where the fuse slot for the gray wire is getting its power from. Maybe someone built the harness on a Monday or Friday. I agree with @DoubleDingo, call the manufacturer. If it’s too much hassle since you already have it...

Is there a good spot for keyed power under the hood?

Was just rereading through some older posts I commented on, including this one, and I didn’t realize it was a ‘90 until I saw you say this just now. And I was talking about splicing into the choke wire ‍[face palm and sigh]

A/C blower always running when key on

I think they all had them. My ‘80 K25 is a base model truck with no A/C and the blower always runs. This was my grandpa’s truck he bought in ‘88 and he hated that bc it would blow hot air around in the summer so he installed a toggle switch in line with the blower motor power wire so he could...

    Wiper differences

I’m not 100% sure either, but what I can say for sure is my ‘80 K25 only has a two speed switch on the dash. I had an ‘84 K5 20+ years ago with the column switch and intermittent wiper speed, so I think 83ish for the changeover year is probably right.

Odd electrical runs from starter to alternator to junction block

I forgot to add this to my last post. The factory wire sizes are all listed on the wiring diagrams, but here is a table I use when I’m straying from the factory.

Odd electrical runs from starter to alternator to junction block

I got into wiring three years ago and I already bought a ton of materials and tools. If you’re looking to replace just one or two wires I can make you some new wires with fusible links and connectors and mail them to you. You can either give me the wire length or I can use my squares as an...

    Cool early Father's Day gift

Told you you wouldn’t be disappointed! I’ve messed with MSD boxes years ago and didn’t notice much improvement, but the PI distributor works so much better than anything else I’ve tried without the hassle of wiring up the extra brain box.
