    Oil pan off, anything I should do while I’m under there?

    I have my oil pan off for a new gasket and was wondering if there is anything I should do, check, or look for while I’m under there? It’s my first look at the bottom end of this engine and I’m very surprised that it’s as clean as it is.

    35 ft lbs. I didn’t inspect the threads on the mounting pads. I probably should have done that first but all three bolts were loose so I just went ahead and tightened them down.

    This was it. Don’t hear the knocking anymore but if it happens once… it can happen twice. Is there something I should do to keep them from backing out again?

    No. The motor has very good oil pressure

    Good to know. Still doesn’t fix the problem though because if that was causing the noise then I would hear it in park and neutral, right?

    The flexplate checked out ok. No cracks. But I found that there is play between the flexplate and torque converter. Is this right or should they be tightened together?

    This knocking noise just started happening after I did a couple high revs in the driveway. It only starts knocking in Drive and Reverse. Sounds just like a rod knocking but obviously isn’t that. I don’t know what else to say but I can answer any questions. Thanks in advance!

    GO GET IT! Man that thing looks clean! Maybe that’s just because I’m used to seeing PNW trucks up here where rust is everywhere. 6k seems very reasonable in my opinion. Good luck :D

    I’ve got that same problem with the turn/parking light on my truck. Don’t know what it is so I’m also wondering what’s the cause?
