    Thread sealant on header bolts?

I just replaced the valve covers and gasket so I think I can rule that one out. Could still be possible. It’s happened to me before.

    Thread sealant on header bolts?

I thought they might be connected with an oil passage? Maybe I’m stupid but a bolt on the back side of my manifold is leaking oil. I’m swapping the stock manifolds out for long tube headers and didn’t want any more leaks

    Thread sealant on header bolts?

Just wanted to know what y’all do when installing headers. Thread sealant on bolts or not? I’ve heard both yes and know and want your opinion and experience. Thank you all in advance!

    Carb gasket comparison question!

Can anyone tell me if I can use the new gasket that my carb rebuild kit came with? The only difference is that lower inner hole. I would guess it’s pretty important to have one that’s exactly the same but want to make sure before ordering a different one. Thank you! (Everything else in the...

What have you done to your square lately??

My truck died on me today while I was hauling leavers for my neighbor. Wouldn’t start up and I had gas pouring down the carburetor from a leak in a gasket. So I did what I thought was best and pulled the carb for a rebuild. I think I’m in over my head… Oh well… I just hope it’s going back...

Can anyone identify this rubbing noise?

I was thinking of replacing these soon anyways. Can I buy a set that comes with everything or do I have to buy it all separately?

Can anyone identify this rubbing noise?

I will check this out. Didn’t think to look at that when I did the wheels bearings. Thanks :D

Can anyone identify this rubbing noise?

I have this odd rubbing noise coming from the front of my truck that’s NOT the wheel bearings (at least I don’t think this is the problem because I have already greased and inspected the bearings/races/spindles and everything is ok) It only happens when going about 5-10 mph and above. Any...

    Backing plates

Sorry my bad…. I’m stupid and was thinking of the diff cover.

    Backing plates

Nope I don’t think they are. I believe one cover is a little deeper than the other. (Full floating being the deeper of the two) The ring gears are a different size. Semi is 9.5 FF is 10.5 Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I believe this is the way it goes.

    HELP! My truck won’t start!

That’s also another “weird” thing that’s going on. I knew the no. 6 was the companion with no. 1 but it just runs like a top when timed with no. 4 so I go with that one. I’ve had that bad feeling in the back of my mind about the balancer being slipped. Is this an easy fix?

    HELP! My truck won’t start!

Right now I have the rotor pointing at the no. 8 cylinder and have the no. 1 plug wire in that position. My problem is that I’m still 180 out and having to time it off of the no. 4 spark plug wire. Why am I 180 out when the rotor points at the no. 1 plug wire at TDC compression AND when it’s at...

    HELP! My truck won’t start!

I though I’d give y’all an update. I had the no. 1 spark plug in the wrong place and so obviously every other one was out of place making it not run. My problem is that I’m still 180 out even with the rotor in the right place. I’ve doubled checked everything and it’s all correct. I’ve just...

    Engine lag

When I first put my engine together I misplaced a few vacuum lines and had quite a few leaks. My engine was doing exactly what you’re describing… shake, loss of power. Another possibility for loss of power when you get into the throttle is you could be running a too rich fuel/air mixture. You...

Can I use this hole for filling oil?

How slow was it? It’s not a problem for me to wait a minute or two more when filling oil but just wondering.
