    BC’s boat/dumpster fire thread

Get the engine running first. Looks like it should run without much fuss. Then polish that hull up. I have polished a lot of boats (ski and pontoons) and it isn’t a lot different than a car. Just use the right product and take your time. I would start off with Meguiars 105 polish / compound from...

    TH350 Pedal Mounted Detent Cable??

Not what you asked, but if you're updating the engine, why keep the TH350 (other than cost savings)?

    Omg dude - get real!

I just saw a few ragged out K20's for sale on the local CL for $6,500 to $9k. Crazy high IMO. I'm just glad I'm not in the market to buy right now.

    Trailer tires

I just purchased 8 of the 10 ply "rated" E weight range, Carlisle tires earlier this spring for my camper and boat (with spares). I had 2 china bomb tires blow on my boat last year within 5 days of one another. Only 2 years old, less than 2,000 miles. I don't want to chance a blowout on the...

I Think I Have An Addiction...

You guys all have me beat! I have my '15 Silverado I driver for work / daily. And my '82 GMC (Daisy) I'm rebuilding on this site. That's it for on road vehicles. I do have a boat and camper for toys as well, but I'm definitely lacking in my on road vehicles / yard art when compared to you...

What have you done to your square lately??

Installed front brake pads, calipers, and hoses. Then spun the truck around to remove the bed. Time to clean up the back half of the frame, and tackle the rear dif fluid change and brakes.

    Quadrajet idle screws question

Yea, I had planned on removing them all the way (counting the turns to be safe) and using the linked video in the Quadrajet rebuild thread to dial it in initially before install. Then finish dialing it in after its on the truck. Cool, well it sounds like I have some options. I appreciate the...

    Quadrajet idle screws question

Well, too late to get them when I get my rebuild kit (already have that, and referencing which new gasket matches old as I remove them). I appreciate the help there with the link. That link brings me to the 79& later screw replacements (I've got an '82, but not sure if it's original). The...

    Quadrajet idle screws question

I'm in the process of rebuilding my quadrajet carb, and during the disassembly phase, I'm ready to remove the idle screws. However, I'm not sure how here... These don't appear to be a screw that can be removed with a normal screw driver. See the picture of the diagram. It looks like maybe there...

    New skin's for the duramax

I think it looks bad ass either way. I'm biased though.. I got big rimz with aggressive tires.

So Does Everyone HATE This Steering Wheel?

I don't necessarily hate the factory steering wheel, but in my case, the original is a POS for sure. Missing the center button, torn up around the edges with chunks missing, etc. Add to that the fact that I don't love the looks of them, and they do seem a bit big (maybe fine if you don't have...

    Tires?

Plenty of American Name tires out there. Search on Tire Rack.com and see what is available in that size. Go from there to decide what you want to pay, and what you can get at your local shop.

    Better master cylinder?

I don't know that a different / bigger / better master brake cylinder is going to solver your problem. Or at least, it may not be the easiest way to solve it. What do you have for brakes now? I mean, pad material? I'm a FIRM believer in ceramic pads, but they have to be bedded correctly to get...

Should I make a daily from my "parts truck" 76 GMC....??

This is where I hope to be with mine by summer. LOL.

What have you done to your square lately??

Man, I'm right there with you. I'm teaching my 2 girls as much as I can, as quickly as I can. I am very proud to say that my 10 year old could change the oil in my '15 Silverado without looking up how to do it. She might not have the strength to remove the oil jug caps, or the drain plug, but...

Should I make a daily from my "parts truck" 76 GMC....??

That "parts truck" is bad ass!. I love the color, and I'd daily it, or at least have fun with it. Then again, that's your driveway / shop space. I'm with 78C10BigTen though, in that I see a couple things I'd like to have to my Daisy if you're going to continue to take parts off of it.

Summit Carb Install Gone Very Wrong

Fuel lines causing the carb not to seat? They look a bit stiff, and MAYBE what could have caused the cart to not want to sit down completely on the gasket/intake...

    Engine to Chassie Ground

If I remember correctly, on my '82 with a 305, it was on the back of the head, to the firewall. Not certain that's the correct one you're wanting, since the firewall isn't the chassis. I did pull a grounding strap off of this area on mine though.

    Wheel lip rubbing on UCA’s

In theory, cutting part of the coil will shorten the gap distance between the upper and lower control arms, thus pushing the wheel out a little on the bottom. However I think then once you do an alignment, it will just be right back where you started, so nothing gained. How bad is it rubbing...
